LOTRO Update 9 Patch Notes Teasers for Bullroarer

As always, these are preliminary notes as this is the first update to Bullroarer. I will stop predicting what this means for launch as we’ve seen short and long test periods on Bullroarer. Personally I was pretty skeptical about what was announced, but there’s some nice additions:

Dol Guldur instances are now scalable!!
- That’s awesome, I just hope there’s rewards appropriate for the levels
Open tapping Middle-Earth wide!
Bree cosmetic re-vamp
Lots of induction and interrupt changes
Moria revamp
- ok, I am one of the few that really enjoyed Moria so this is lost on me, but I like that they’re revisiting such iconic content

Can’t find anything I do not like, the finished revamp of moria and the auto loot might even have me dust off a pre-moria char.

I am looking forward to the update!

  I agree there’s lots of good stuff, but I’m still grumpy over the fact that there are zero Rohan instances.

    True, the absence of a rohan (mounted) instance is a bit of a letdown but since this is east rohan I rather have them put effort in to creating some epic helms deep instances for their next expansion.
    
    And think positive there might be some paid (free for vip) for rohan instance later next year

      True, I could see them doing something like the Inn and Halls of Night which would be nice. But considering we’re getting this cluster and scalable DG I wouldn’t count on it

I saw people linking some really good pocket items from tier 2 Sammath Gul on the test server. The Dol Guldur sets are supposedly the same, just with level 85 sets.

You guys that have been on Bullroarer, will there still be old level 65 DG sets and new level 85 sets? Same cosmetics I guess.

  I’m not sure they’re in yet, at least I couldn’t find them in my quick look. But I believe they will be the same just with 85 stats.

I have too many questions Doc, sorry, but I also assume the new 85 DG sets will have better stats than the Hytbold sets and barterable with seals and medallions? I’m thinking Orthanc without the unlocks for completing the wings. I will say the Middle Earth wide remote looting is making that 6th bag purchase less and less neccessary.

  I would guess so, but I could see it being on par with Hytbold – we shall see. And yes, I’m assuming seals and medallions based on the loot people are getting from the instances.
  
  And yeah, I’m really not sure the 6th bag is needed although I’m sure it would be handy

Doc, I ran Warg Pens and Swordhalls, both challenge mode last night on a level 85 toon that had not completed those, just to knock out the deeds before they up the challenge to level 85. Received 45 TP total. Might not be a bad idea to knock those out now for some folks before they make it harder in a few weeks.

    Yeah the DG Dungeons instance takes a little while to run, and I haven’t finished all the deeds in there on any toon yet. But you could probably go blow up SG with 3 or 4 level 85s if you still need those deeds as well. I just know there were challenge modes for Annuminas and Great Barrows at levels lower than 85, but I didn’t get them done then, and now its hard to find groups to run them.
