LOTRO, Secret World, & Rift with an End-Game View
LOTRO Update 9 Coming to Bullroarer Next Week
Very few details in this video but some good house-keeping work from Sapience on a number of items. Quite a bit around the Extra Life Marathon events, but the big teaser was for Update 9. It will be coming to the open test server Bullroarer next week, so it is possible we could see it early in December. The only thing he hints at are:
- Instance Cluster
- XP Disabler
- Open tapping changes coming to more of Middle-Earth

Hey Doc, I wanted to give you some info not on the new instance cluster, but on Fornost. My kinmates and I attempted a tier 2 Fornost 6-man Water Wing last night, just to see what it was like. It took us awhile to get to the 2nd and final boss, and we wiped 3 times on him. First he hits like a tank and if you get knocked in the water you lose hard mode. Here is the thing. My kin is a raiding kin, so our group make up was a guard in full Hytbold gear along with my Captain, again full Hytbold gear, two hunters, a champ and an RK. We are all very well geared and having 16s in virtues slots. this bos fight is next to impossible. I was getting routinly hit for almost 10k and I wear heavy armor! Anyway, if and when we figure it out, I’ll let you know. I will say we received around 130 medallions with the first boss and the 2 side quests getting to the boss. So the rewards for Medallions is pretty good.

From what I’ve been hearing, something is a little wonky with potentially resistances of some such with most likely the 8.1 patch. We’ve run into this problem before and sadly it happens quite often when they try to tweak things and every once in a while something gets totally borked. Sounds kinda like what you’ve run into.

This is great news. I hope we get the instance cluster before the end of the year. I have two 85s now and after Hytbold dailies and a couple of warbands, it gets slow on LOTRO. I actually started working on yet another 75 who is half-way to 78 now. Open tapping Middle Earth wide is great, but remote looting like in Rohan would be even better. It would be great to go back and knock out some slayer deeds and then find out at the end that you have 50 Pristine hides sitting in your bags waiting to vendor.
