New LOTRO Rohan Screenshots Featuring Warbands

Probably one of the more anticipated and hyped features of the new mounted combat system is the concept of these Warbands. They’ve been described as roaming packs of destruction that will be like mobile quest targets of some sort for us to deal with. Today at least we finally get a chance to look at them with some cool looking screenshots. I still would like to see them in-game to see what kind of mobs (normal, elite, etc.) they are but this at least is a good teaser.

I’m most interested by the sheer number of mobs. I counted NINE in one screenshot, which is quite a lot considering that number is normally only found in instances.

  Agreed that is encouraging since all we’ve seen before is 1v1 combat. Thanks for that link, I hadn’t seen it before. I find it interesting that they’re removing the tagging in this zone to try and almost replicate the public quest system of other games like Rift. It is sounding better and better!

I know the beta has only been out for a short time but have you heard if the new lvl85 gear will be bought with the same medellions/seals? or will it be a new raid grind like OD? I have just saved enough for a 4 piece Isen Raid set but with RoR imminent would i be crazy to spend the phenominally hard grinded loot? cheers

  I haven’t been following everything lately, but I don’t expect to hear details like that until the NDA drops. Which actually might not be that long considering the proximity to the actual launch date.
  
  I expect that since we’re not getting a cluster right away, there’s a good chance there won’t be a new armor set right away. However, I do expect there to be something available at some point for the current marks/medallions. But it wouldn’t shock me if they did one set for marks/medallions/seals and another one from boss drops.
  
  Personally I wouldn’t spend anything now as you know you’re going to replace it pretty quickly anyway. Unless of course you want it for the cosmetic or completionist in you. Or unless it is preventing you from doing content you want to right now.
  
  Have I sufficiently hedged my bets here?
