LOTRO Update 3 Launching May 23rd

Sapience just posted that the 23rd is the date for VIPs, who get the content for free, while Premium and Free players will have to wait until the 27th (Friday) to purchase the instances and skirmishes.

Sapience confirmed the launch date for the as yet to be named Update 3 as May 23rd for those on the NA servers with a mentioned date of June 1st for those on the EU side. However, that date coincides with their transition from Codemasters to Turbine so I’d imagine that may take a little bit of time. But since this will be done just by patching the current Codemasters’ client, it is possible this could be quick and painless.
The linked article that Sapience touches on is an interview with Massively going through the new 3-man instance spaces. Some pretty cool stuff in there as well as some nice snapshots of the spaces. I’ve been through some of them over on Bullroarer, but mainly just to check things out. I’m more saving them for live such that I can experience them with others.
They’re continue to ramp things up in difficulty with the different instance tiers, for example the Halls of Night instance it will be hard to tell with “poo†is bad and which one won’t kill you.
I will admit, I’m a little intrigued by how the Inn of the Foresaken’s class specific clickables will work out as I’m going to imagine there’s some sort of deed or something tied to them that people will aim for. The class specific part isn’t required to finish, but for those completionists out there it might drive them crazy!
I’m glad we now have a date, can’t wait for all the fun to commence! All we need now is a name…

The class-specific interactables are incredibly important to getting through, unless you are careful (they basically make it much more manageable), but are also required for the Challenge Mode (you have to use them all for that, so you need specific classes to finish the Challenge).
